Description: Position Title Lead Mechanical Engineer Job Description Provide fixed equipment engineering design, analysis, and maintenance support for refinery assets along with mentoring less experienced mechanical engineers Primary Functions Maintains high standards, leads comprehensive safety discussions, and maintains a value system that promotes the refinery's commitment to safety every day Understands all SHE policies and regulations relating to assigned area Conducts required number of audits each month Performs incident investigations and corrective actions when assigned Helps coordinate and complete Management of Change requirements Leads effort in risk screening Acts as the main point of contact for the assigned engineers Reviews engineering packages and gives technical guidance to assigned engineers Provides leadership and oversight for turnaround milestones Provides leadership and oversight for business team plans Acts as an equipment champion for assigned equipment classes Presents updates to management team on improvement activities for assigned zone Performs higher level engineering analysis (e.g., Level 2 Fitness for Service) Understands and mentors engineers on the use of engineering software (e.g., Caesar, PvElite, VcSage) Key Experiences: Knowledgeable in maintenance practices and possess detailed understanding of the equipment class programs and strategies Must possess strategic and creative thinking abilities Must possess interactive and interpersonal skills necessary for teamwork building. This position acts as the main point of contact for the zone mechanical engineering endeavors and works closely with the equipment owners for problem resolution Must possess good judgment Must be skilled in oral and written communications and possess computer skills needed for communications and analysis Detailed understanding of engineering practices (ExxonMobil and industry standards, etc.), Process Safety Management practices and risk management Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering requir ed.
