Job Description:Req ID: 40121 Job Details: * Design, implement, maintain, and test leading-edge tools features and functionality using Ruby On Rails * Design and implement AngularJS based reusable components, with emphasis on ease of use, both for the end user and consuming client applications is a Plus! * Create robust large-scale production applications to improve Search & Data, Quality & Management of a significant amount of data * Be, or quickly become the TDD and RSpec/Cucumber subject matter expert/opinion leader * Create prototypes very quickly and re-architect them for production readiness * Take research projects and work collaboratively to move them to engineering * Provide platform support and maintenance * Document code just enough to communicate system designs * Play an active role in the evolution of Search & Data Tools products * Develop or use deep expertise in multiple areas including APIs, Data Mining, Data Parsing, Master Data Management, Text Analysis, MapReduce or Hive * Play with or build bleeding edge technologies just to see if you can do it better, faster Candidate Requirements: * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) * Strong HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript skills * Working experience with AngularJS required * 4+ years in Ruby or equivalent language and preferably with a MVC framework such as RoR * Technologies: Bootstrap UI, jQuery, SASS, Git, Automation (grunt, bower, docular), * Experience in writing unit tests (or a strong desire to) using tools like Jasmine, Karma, etc. * Familiarity with common browser idiosyncrasies * Efficient problem solving skills (algorithms, data structures and design patterns is big plus) * Strong attention to detail, UX principles is a big plus * Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment with multiple projects * Competency Profile * Must be opinionated yet flexible * Ability to work on JavaScript one day and MapReduce jobs the next day * Active open source member/contributor preferred * Must be self-motivated, have great communication skills (work with product, qa and other dev teams), innovative and engineering excellence, and the ability to adapt to change * Background Experiences o A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design o BS or MS in CS or related discipline preferred YP is a leading local marketing solutions provider in the US dedicated to helping local businesses and communities grow.
