Scheduling Schedules and coordinates appointments in an accurate and timely manner for outpatient radiology department including MRI, CT, X-Ray, Fluoro, Ultrasound, and Mammography utilizing correct format to ensure no conflicts. 2. Pre-Registration Ensures appropriate authorizations and eligibility are complete on scheduled procedures prior to patients arrival. Consistently demonstrates thorough knowledge and understanding of computerized registration, account information, Medical Record Index, and EMR in Meditech computer system. Completes pre-registration with all pertinent demographic information (insurance, diagnosis, authorization, doctor, and exam type) using Meditech Registration module. Verifies all insurance benefits on all pre-registrations. Verifies insurance eligibility through the appropriate electronic system to ensure collect ability of the account. Requests and collects deposits, deductible, co-pays by providing payment options in the form of check or credit cards. Accurately uses passport system and maintains meditech cash drawer. Provides patient with a receipt. Provides accurate price quotes. 3. Customer Service Informs patient of Notice of Privacy Practices. Gives accurate prep instructions for different diagnostic procedures Answers all incoming calls within in a timely manner and according to benchmarks as assigned. Appropriately logs out/in within ACD system to enable calls to be properly distributed. 4. Record maintenance Obtains appropriate medical records and/or operative reports associated with the scheduled exam or for patient clearance. Organizes prescriptions in appropriate file. Maintains all patients medical information in the file system. Validates existing data related to prior registrations by asking patient to repeat all data and updating appropriately in the system. Records comments and financial notes. Places all registration paperwork in the folder for the Registration Associate when patient physically comes in to register. Correctly identifies every patient by Social Security number, name and date of birth. Distributes data to appropriate departments in a timely manner. 5. Accuracy Schedules all exams with an emphasis on correct sequencing and preparation using Meditech and the Admitting Registration module. Enters required data into the system of demographic data and financial information with a 98% accuracy rate. Communication Communicates changes in scheduling accurately with interfacing departments. Communicates with physician offices, patients, radiologist, and fellow co- workers in a professional manner. Works closely with physician offices to ensure accurate data is collected. Maintains awareness of equipment status and computer errors to the supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: . * Computer skills (Meditech, IntelliSource as well as RIS Logic for previous history, basic Windows functionality, basic keyboard knowledge). * Ability to communicate effective, both verbally and in writing. * Medical terminology. * Ability to consistently function in an environment that includes varying, unpredictable, or crisis circumstances while exercising appropriate interpersonal and critical thinking skills. * Ability to function independently and perform more than one task at any given time. * Must be able to type approximately 40 wpm. * Ability to work in a high volume office with continual interruptions. * Must be able to schedule and Pre-register 30-40 patients per day, with minimal to no errors. * Demonstrate ability to operate and troubleshoot computers, printers, and FAX machines. Radiologists and radiology technicians shall have access to the entire medical record as necessary to verify the radiological procedures to be performed identify potential drug interactions and provide ordered radiology services.
