GENERAL SUMMARY:The Corporate based Clinical Applications Specialist is responsible for providing clinical support to the internal Patient Monitoring, Technical Support employees and to the external customers. She/he is primarily responsible for insuring customer calls are clinically addressed and documented as well as assisting technical support staff with any call as needed. This position may require travel. Additional responsibilities include assisting with maintaining the clinical training and product support materials and other product related activities. This is a full-time position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following:Responsible for providing clinical support to the technical support team during the assigned hours with on-call rotation responsibility. Responsible to update product knowledge as product operations or features change and assist to train the technical support team on these changes in concert with the Monitoring Clinical training specialist.Responsible for collaborating with the Monitoring Clinical Training Specialist to assist in identifying and delivering clinical needs for the technical support department.Responsible for remaining clinically knowledgeable and competent and for maintaining licensure. Responsible to manage time wisely and efficiently and to accomplish assignments in established timeframesResponsible for collaborating with QA/RA as a clinical expert in conjunction with the clinical leadership team.BASIC EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: The Nihon Kohden America (NKA) Clinical Applications Specialist (CAS) possesses a minimum of five years' experience in critical care nursing with a current RN license issued in the United States. The minimum educational requirement is a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required. The NKA CAS demonstrates excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and presents a professional image with above-average customer service skills. Must possess excellent critical thinking skills and top notch customer service skills. Must be able to handle difficult situations and provide solutions to clinical and technical matters. Expert in 12 lead EKG interpretation and hemodynamics.LANGUAGE SKILLS/ABILITIES:The NKA CAS has the ability to read, analyze and interpret equipment manuals, general business periodicals or professionaljournals; the ability to write reports and business correspondence; the ability to effectively present information and teach in one -on-one and group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS/ABILITIES: The NKA CAS has the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, commonfractions, and decimals; the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.COMPUTER SKILLS/ABILITIES: The NKA CAS has a working knowledge of Windows PC's, is proficient in Microsoft Outlook email applications, and is efficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Office programs.BASIC PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
