Technical Advisor (Senior Engineer) - Functional Safety Job Summary: The position will reside in either USA (Irvine or Cleveland), Germany (Frankfurt) or England (Hawarden)Job Summary: This position will be responsible for providing technical leadership and will act as the senior technical lead in Service Quality- Functional Safety, among all CSA certification offices and Network Partners, including reviewing, assessing, monitoring, training and qualifying staff; providing dispute resolution; resolving technical issues and providing interpretation of technical requirements. Duties will also include, with direction, coordinating and participating in standards development work in Canada, USA and international arenas. Education: University degree (Electrical or Electronics Engineering) and professional registration or equivalent. Experience: With ten (10) years relevant CSA experience in the areas of safety analysis, software analysis and electronic circuit analysis. This experience will include five (5) years at the fully qualified level (Certifier Level 3 or equivalent). Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, both written and oral, and presentation skills are essential. Strong training skills must be evident, since training of staff is an essential element of this position. Strong leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization in a collaborative fashion. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and decision making skills are necessary. Must also be flexible and perform well in a team environment. Must be willing to travel globally. Must have demonstrated competence for the position and commitment to technical excellence. Must have strong computer skills. Must have excellent multitasking skills, and be able to produce Technical Documents such as Notices, Informs, List of Technical requirements (LTR), Technotes and Technical Information Letters (TIL), that are written in a clear and concise manner, and be of the highest technical standards possible. Must have experience with the functional safety of electrical products with electronic safety controls. Must have functional safety experience in the application of Safety Integrity Level (SIL) classifications. Travel: Travel is required.
