Assists in the preparation and updating of EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Master Operating Instructions (MBRs), ensuring compliance with provincial and federal EHS Acts Regulations. Oversees all Gilead internal projects to ensure all EHS regulations and company policies are being followed. Communicates cross functionally and makes regular tours of all worksite areas to ensure that EHS rules are being observed; accompanies EHS related regulatory inspectors on their visits. Attends and reports to the department on EHS meetings, updates the members in regards to observations, changes in procedures, work practices and general safety and environmental information. Assists in collecting and compiling data and information for monthly and annual reports. Provides EHS orientation for new personnel and contractors; prepares organizes and presents specialized safety and environmental training sessions for all staff. Ensures that the procedures for accident and incident investigations are carried out as appropriate, and that remedial actions are progressing following and incident. Ensures supplies of correct safety equipment are maintained and accessible-purchases, performs preventative maintenance, and arranges for and/or performs fit checks to comply with regulations. Oversees and administers the site Emergency Response Plan Plans, implements, audits and coordinates upgrades for site. Manages and is responsible for completion of EHS projects. Ideal candidate will have 6+ years of industry experience and BS Degree. Preferred certifications include CSP and CIH.
